Fishing Tackle Boxes:
Practical Designs For All Your Needs
The designs you can find are really creative as well as carefully thought
out by people who know fishing - and that is good news as you can now find the
fishing tackle boxes that fit in perfectly with your tackle and the various needs
you will have.
A fine fishing tackle
box will last a lifetime and
store not only your fishing gadgets and accessories, but some of your greatest memories. Many fishermen find
after a time that they have collected an enormous amount of tackle boxes, but that is part of the fun side of being a fisherman - gadgets and
little pieces of priceless junk.
The logical side of a tackle box is to store in an organized way your gear - in layman's terms -
your stuff. It as to have compartments so you can store in small areas your different pieces and so you can
find them easily. That's the logical side of things and perfectly correct. But any fisherman worth his salt
will have to admit that he, or she, loves collecting fishing stuff.
A child who begins to fish, falls in love with the sport and
continues to do so for the rest of his life, will end up with enormous amount of beautiful stuff - some will look
like junk, but the memories they keep will be invaluable. Others will look like museum pieces and that is probably
because they will be.
Fishing tackle boxes come in different sizes, of
various materials - the old pipe tobacco box has always been a favorite; there can be wooden boxes with their
painted lids, plastic boxes of different sizes and even shapes. Some have divisions and others not. Some are old,
some are new, but they all end up being part of a collection.
One way of dividing
your fishing tackle boxes is by sizes and in two general groups:
This is
where you keep all your different fishing gear such as:
- lures
- flies
- lines
- swivels
- sinkers
It is a central storage box that must be strong, light
weight, durable and can be carried. It should hold various compartments to organize and store the different fishing
gear you have.
As you can see from the sample images above they are
different designs available.
The small fishing tackle boxes:
- Most fishermen will have a few of these and here is where you will keep the specific angling
equipment you will use during you trip when you are out by the
water.
- It is not a replacement but in addition to your
main tackle box.
- You should be able to keep it handy on your person
(jacket, backpack, vest), and its major benefit is that you can change lures, flies, lines, sinkers and so on,
between fish or casts.
- As you have different types of fishing, spinning and
fly fishing - to name just two- you also have different types of small tackle
boxes, according to your particular style of
fishing. (For example to keep flies or lures, as the case may be).
